LIFE SMART4Action intends to re-shape the forest monitoring in Italy and its information and reporting system in a way that, while keeping scientifically sound, they can be financially sustainable even under budget restriction.

The project has two main goals:

  • design a new system in order to substantially reduce the costs (target: 30%) and - at the same time – to value the importance of the present information in relation to national and regional statistics on key variables linked to sustainable forest management and ecosystem services.
  • improve communication, information and data transfer to stakeholders.

TerraData is responsible for monitoring spending review activities, evaluating historical data series, summarizing available information, coordinating and directing evaluations and elaborations, and integrating project results.
