The project LIFE MODERn (NEC) aims to improve the system of evaluation of the impacts of air pollution and climate change on forest and freshwater ecosystems in Italy, in order to comply with NEC Directive.
The objective will be achieved by improving the current Italian monitoring network (consisting of 6 forest sites and 4 of fresh water) and the development of new indicators and protocols to increase the knowledge on the effects of air pollution on ecosystems under the pressure of climate change.
The project is coordinated by Arma dei Carabinieri – Comando Unità Forestali, Ambientali e Agroalimentari (CUFAA).
TerraData is an associated partner and it is responsible for implementation of the Action B3 dealing with the implementation and testing of existing and newly proposed indicators at the already existing and the newly selected monitoring sites.
