LIFE MODERn(NEC)

The project LIFE MODERn (NEC) aimed to improve the system of evaluation of the impacts of air pollution and climate change on forest and freshwater ecosystems in Italy, in order to comply with NEC Directive.

Biomonitoring networks

Lichen biomonitoring studies (Lichen Diversity Value method; bioaccumulation) are routinely performed in Itlay, around point sources of emission, mainly thermoelectric power plants.

Lichens and forests

Epiphytic lichens are excellent indicators of forest continuity. We performed a lot of scientific research in this topic.

TerraData has been involved for years in the biomonitoring surveys by means of lichens (bioindication and bioaccumulation) and vascular plants (floristic surveys) in the geothermal areas of Tuscany.

LIFE FutureForCoppiceS

FutureForCoppiceS aimed to improve the knowledge base for the development of future, sustainable forest management (SFM) of coppice in southern Europe.

LIFE Smart4Action

The project LIFE SMART4Action aimed to re-shape the forest monitoring in Italy and its information and reporting system in a way that, while keeping scientifically sound, they can be financially sustainable even under budget restriction.

EUBON

EUBON was a project funded by the 7th Framework Program aimed at developing a system to facilitate access to high quality biodiversity data.

CEN standards

From 2007 to 2017 TerraData was a member of the UNI (Ente Nazionale Italiano di Unificazione) and partecipated in the activities of the Environmental Commitee within WG1 (Environmental Management Systems), WG 4 (Air Quality) and WG 6 (Environmental Impact).

LIFE MANFOR C.BD

The project tested in the field the effectiveness of forest management options in meeting multiple objectives (production, protection, biodiversity, etc.), providing data, guidance and indications of best-practice.

RENECOFOR

The RENECOFOR forest monitoring network was created in 1992 by the Office National des Forets (ONF) to monitor the health of French forests.

This project, co-funded by the Tuscany Region’s ‘I custodi della montagna’ (2023–2027) call for proposals, aims to promote tourism that recognises the role of rural areas in preserving welcoming, healthy environments rich in biodiversity.

Ozone and forests in Trentino

The Ozone EFFORT project (Ozone Effects on Forests in Trentino) was developed from 2007 to 2012 to study tropospheric ozone levels in forest areas with the aim of understanding the potential risks to vegetation associated with this pollutant.

LIFE FutMon

The project aimed to create a pan-European forest monitoring system able to provide strategic information on forests in the European Union, as required by the international obligations of the Forest Action Plan.
