LIFE MANFOR C.BD.

Managing forests for multiple purposes: carbon, biodiversity and socio-economic wellbeing (LIFE09 ENV/IT/000078; 2010 – 2015)

The project tested in the field the effectiveness of forest management options in meeting multiple objectives (production, protection, biodiversity, etc.), providing data, guidance and indications of best-practice, with the following objectives:
• propose and implement multifunctional forest management options and demonstrate their effective applicability;
• compare them with the traditional management systems;
• identify the optimal option and promote its application;
• provide data on Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) Indicators already available and propose new ones.

TerraData carried out the technical monitoring of the project in all its phases, from field surveys to the drafting of technical reports.
